Taproot, THINK Together & Me
At the end of last month I had applied to be a part of the Taproot Foundation, an organization that empowers deserving non-profits by giving them access to professional talent for free. After an orientation and a couple of phone interviews I am now a member of the Taproot Pro Bono Consultant team.
The next step is getting staffed on a project. My first choice was working on a web redesign for THINK Together, and I was pumped to be selected as the Content Manager for that project. I will be working with 5 other consultants on completing the redesign over the next 6 months. The projects are generally a 100 hour commitment for each consultant.
After our first in-person meeting with the THINK Together team I couldn’t be more excited. This is a great organization to get behind, they partner with school districts and provide after-school programs based around their needs. Their objective is to help each student achieve his/her full potential.
I’m very passionate about working with kids and strongly believe that huge innovation will come from encouraging and empowering the younger generation to embrace education, learning and creativity.

With a background in Producing, Project Management and Business Development, Mike is passionate about non-profits and excited about finding creative ways to integrate philanthropic philosophies into existing for-profit business models.
His goal with socially responsible strategies is to drive new traffic, improve corporate culture and foster company pride, all while increasing a business' exposure and profits.
Mike is borderline obsessed with new media and harnessing emerging technologies. He loves working with dedicated people and supplying them with all the tools necessary to make a project the best it can be.
